Salient Features - L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail


L&T Metro Rail, officially known as L&T Hyderabad Metro, is a rapid transit system in Hyderabad, India. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, here are some of the salient features of the L&T Metro Rail system:

  1. Operational Route: L&T Metro Rail operates on a few key routes in Hyderabad, including the Red Line, Green Line, and Blue Line.

  2. Total Route Length: The entire network spans over 69 kilometers (approximately 43 miles).

  3. Stations: The system has several metro stations along its routes, facilitating easy access to various parts of the city.

  4. Public-Private Partnership (PPP): The project is a significant example of a public-private partnership. It was developed and is being operated by L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in collaboration with the Government of Telangana.

  5. Advanced Technology: The Hyderabad Metro uses modern, state-of-the-art technology, including advanced signaling systems, trains, and ticketing solutions.

  6. Smart Cards: Passengers can use smart cards for ticketing, making travel more convenient and efficient.

  7. Integration with Other Modes of Transport: The metro system is integrated with other modes of transportation, including buses and suburban trains, to create a seamless commuting experience.
